Hey, before we begin, here's a big, fat apology for posting late this week and for not posting at all last week. Sabrina and I have still got a lot of exams and revision that we have to do right now, so obviously that's been taking priority.
However, it's half term now and our last few exams, for a while, are in the next couple of weeks, after we start back at school and afterwards we should be more active again!
Anyway, so this week's posts are about how we're spending our half terms, but hopefully you can get some ideas from it too - and share your own in the comments. We'll be updating our days throughout the week, so make sure to keep checking back!
You can also check up on us on Twitter and Tumblr now too - links are to the side too.
Alison: Today was my day set aside for studying - as my family and I have some stuff planned through the week as my Gran is down from Scotland to visit us. Obviously, if you've got exams you're going to have to study for more than one day of your half term, but having a day set aside for intense studying is something I find really useful.
While I was studying, I got a text from Mum asking me to walk the dog. Walks, whether I have the dog or not, are something I find really calming and refreshing to do. You can go, breathe some fresh air and get some nice photos too - especially right now when all the flowers are out and there are really nice colours everywhere - even if it all makes my nose a bit sniffly!
Here's some of my photos from today (at one point I tried to take a picture of two squirrels but dropped my phone trying to get it out of my pocket and scared them both away...).

Anyway, excuses aside, I will try my best to make my own posts/add to Alison's posts more, as I do genuinely want to do more and give advice and tips, etc. I might create my own version of Alison's confidence post, which may include my own personal experiences with gaining confidence and how to help overcome low self-esteem. They might not be as regular as Alison's posts (as we've all noticed...), but like I said, I'll try to put more effort into this blog - starting now.
So, it's nearly the end of Monday, and I have to admit that I haven't done anything extremely productive today. However, seeing as I have exams coming up, I have created my own revision timetable for the next three weeks. It's a great way of feeling more organised and in control of your life, therefore I definitely recommend you do this too - whether you have exams or work related stuff coming up. I colour coded each subject, but I only had 4 different coloured whiteboard pens so I used different patterns too. I know what I have to do for the next three weeks, and it's really helped clear my head for how to do it as well. I won't bore you with all of the details, but it's made me feel more reassured.
I also watched two movies today - The Fault In Our Stars and Big Hero 6. You're probably aware of what happens in The Fault In Our Stars, due to the fact that basically the entirety of the Internet has cried about it. But in case you're unaware of what it's about, here's a brief synopsis: "Two teens, both who have different cancer conditions, fall in love after meeting at a cancer support group." Thanks, IMDb. But honestly, it's such a beautiful film. It sounds bad, but I literally cannot express my love for the entire film. The way that they have adapted it from the book is brilliant, and I honestly couldn't have asked for more from John Green and the film crew.
Big Hero 6 is a Disney animation that was released in the UK earlier this year, and here's a short synopsis, again brought by the lovely IMDb: "The special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heros." It sounds kinda lame, but it teaches the audience about love and compassion, loss, and how to overcome your problems properly. Also, who could forget when quirky and mildly-scene character Gogo slips in feminist messages, such as "woman up"? Overall, I really admire Disney for creating a wonderful film, that includes incredible animation, a great storyline, as well as important life lessons for the young audience that watch it.
See you tomorrow with another blog post,
- Alison and Sabrina
