Hello from Scotland! (However, I'm writing this in England and posting whilst I'm away as I won't have time to type it up!) Today, I'm going to be telling you all about a foundation I recently bought, the No7 Stay Perfect Foundation, and how it's been for me over the last week or so of owning it.
Before I begin, I think that it's important to mention a couple of things to you.
Firstly, this is the first foundation I have ever owned, so I have nothing to compare it to other than what I've seen of others experiences.
And secondly: what my skin is like. I am pretty sure I have combination skin, but I suffer from a lot of breakouts and I have made a bit of a mess of my chin and forehead in the past with acne - albeit not as severe as some have it. I ended up taking tablets for this and while my skin still gets quite bad compared to a lot of people I know, it is by no means as bad as it was. Saying that, I am very confident in my own skin now and don't cover it up as much as I did when I was 12/13.
Anyway, onto the foundation itself.

I ended up buying this as my Mum and I were going to a hen night and she had wanted to get a new foundation, but hadn't done so for years. Her shade had changed over the years she hadn't worn any makeup and I had nothing to go by other than my concealer shade, and so we found ourselves in Boots heading over to the No7 counter as I knew that they did colour matching.
This was such a simple process, with the woman holding the machine to our necks in turn, whilst explaining foundation as a whole, how to apply, what to match it with and how to store it for example. Once she had found our shades, she picked up a sample bottle for each of us and applied it to our faces, showing us how seamlessly the foundation matched the skin.
They were both perfect matches, and we each bought our shades in Superlight.
Once I had bought it, I realised that it was hypo-allergenic and had SPF so that was a little extra good bit.
I've applied some foundation to show you how well it works, however, this is with no other products other than moisturiser, whereas I would normally wear concealer under it too, in order to make sure all of my spots and discolouration were covered up. (Top two - Before, Bottom two - After)

While I don't feel the images do full justice to the foundation, you can still see a huge difference to the redness of my cheeks and around my nose as well as the noticeability of the imperfections on my chin and the bags under my eyes.
It really just does a very good job of evening everything out, and on top of this, it applies brilliantly, with very little blending to make it look right and afterwards, it stays on very well.
On the hen night, I only had blush and eyeshadow on top of the foundation, and by the end of the night the foundation was still in place - without any creasing from all my laughing and talking.
Overall, I would highly recommend trying out this foundation if you are looking for a new one. And don't be afraid to go over to the people working on the No7 Counter and ask for them to do a colour match for you - it's a free service that means your foundation will look that little bit better!
Make sure to let me know any of your foundation recommendations in the comments below!
See you soon with another blog post,
